The tour of Etihad Stadium was amazing! I am watching Man City vs Chelsea right now and some of the greatest players in the world are standing where we were standing when we did our own walkout. Also it was really cool to see Manuel Pelligrini standing in the press corner where we did the walk out and our own "Man of the Match" interview. It is crazy to see that we were there just a couple days ago!!

It was a great tournament for the team. Although, we lost in the final, we were by far the best team there. This trip improved our speed of play and aggression. I think we will be a lot better this fall in the leagues and tournaments that we compete in because we are playing faster and stronger. Thank you to Matt and all the parents and my teammates for making this great experience possible.

Thank you to all the parents for devoting part of your summer to help develop the cohesiveness and skills of our team. And thank you to Matt for believing in us and recommending a trip like this. I learned a lot, especially from the lessons at City headquarters, such as turning on when you cross the white line, and from the Rangers game, such as the way that all the players moved off the ball to create space for themselves. The trip was a blast. I’m looking forward to the next trip!

This trip was fantastic in terms of team growth and player development. The combined cultural and football experience was once in a lifetime.

Cesar & Juninho representing Ecuador!
The final day of the tournament found the DUSC team needing a win or draw to earn their spot in the cup final. The day began with clouds and wind but by game time the sun was coming through again. Rain forecasts had changed and conditions could not have been better.
DUSC produced a classy performance, at times playing very loose and with confidence. In the early stages of the game Valspar FC rarely crossed the midfield line in possession. DUSC's offensive pressure produced a result near the midway point in the first half as Renzo won the ball and fed it ahead to Junior who advanced the ball to Gabriel and Gabe finished with precision.
The second half saw DUSC increase their lead. Gabe drove a ball deep toward the end line then crossed the ball to the streaking Renzo for an easy tap in. Josiah finished the scoring, finishing a PK after being taken down in the box after a powerful run into the area. The 3-0 win capped off a series of group stage wins which saw 13 of our players find the back of the net and DUSC finishing at the top of their group.
In the final DUSC once again met Syngenta FC. The match was intensely contested and remained 0-0 at the half. The urgency intensified in the second half with the tournament cup at stake. Both teams had their chances and in the end a deep run by Syngenta striker drew a penalty which was successfully executed to break the stalement. DUSC continued to push only to see one clearance off the line and another close range shot saved at time. It was a hard loss but DUSC was the top scoring team in their age group and left the tournament on a positive note with a grand dinner before an early morning flight, most of the players returning to New York while others departed to Turkey, Paris, and Copenhagen.
